An unmasked Daft Punk have been depicted in sculpture form as part of a new series by Parisian artist Xavier Veilhan.
Daft Punk Secretly Photographed Without Their Helmets After Grammys
After sweeping the floor at the Grammy celebration on Sunday night, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter returned home to France this week with a swag of trophies under their arms.
As well as making fans all goosebumpy and famous people dance awkwardly with their all-star performance, the duo left L.A. with Grammys for major categories like Album Of The Year, Track Of The Year and Best Dance/Electronica Album.
However, Thomas and Guy-Man couldn’t leave LAX without a close encounter of the TMZ kind. The tabloid outlet was of course, camped out at the airport to snap a surreptitious photo of the departing Frenchmen. Unlike other bogus ‘unmasked’ photos that have been doing the rounds, this one seems legit – not least because even robots have to go through security without helmets. TMZ’s accompanying text is typically snarky when addressing the dance icons: “If you spent all 14 hours of the Grammys wondering what was behind those shiny helmets – you might be disappointed to see the duo actually looked pretty damn boring in baseball caps before their flight back to France.”
