Burning Man Hit By Bad Weather

Burning Man

As thunderstorms sweep through Nevada, the annual festival's opening day was cancelled by organisers. This year's edition of Burning Man has been plagued by bad weather, with organisers closing the festival on its opening day.

Rain isn't usually an issue at Burning Man, which takes place every year in Nevada's Black Rock Desert. But as storms hit the region, organisers cancelled the weeklong event's first day on Monday, August 25th. Thousands of "burners" were locked outside the waterlogged festival area, with most people seeking alternative campsites or returning to Reno.

Burning Man

Burning Man is a famously eccentric gathering attended by 60,000 people each year. It came in at number three in RA's rundown of the best festivals in August 2014.
