Daft Punk set to appear on the Colbert report

Daft Punk fan site The Daft Club reports that the typically hush-hush robot duo is scheduled to make an appearance on The Colbert Report next week.

The news helps to explain Stephen Colbert's random cameo on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon this past Monday, in which he crashed the show by dancing along to "Get Lucky" apropos of nothing. It's not clear whether Daft Punk will give an interview, a performance, or some combination thereof on Colbert's show, but his musical guests usually do a little of both.

Pitchfork has confirmed that Daft Punk's episode will air on Tuesday, August 6, as part of Colbert's "StePhest Colbchella '013" series. Watch Colbert's cameo on Jimmy Fallon below:
