This year seminal British house label Defected celebrated 15 massively influential years in the business. The tributes have been rolling out all year for the imprint, and they have capped the 2014 with a short documentary about how they've celebrated reaching the milestone.
This year has seen Defected launch a pop-up merch and music store on Brick Lane, curate stages at Global Gathering, We Are FSTVL and Sundown, run a colossal 20-week season at BOOOM! Ibiza, drop a handful of big Defected in the House compilations, and of course, grace the cover of Mixmag in June.
In the mini-doc label founder Simon Dunmore discusses the major nights, releases and events of the year, as well as giving a big shout out to Mixmag after the label hijacked the cover and threw a takeover party at the Oval Space in Hackney, featuring Noir, Osunlade and a bangin’ live set from Guti.
Here’s to another 15 years in the house!
