Over the past few years, the legendary Dj and Dim Mak label owner Steve Aoki, may have been better known as a professional entertainer rather than a Dj/Producer. With his trademark cake throwing, champagne showering, life rafting and stage diving routine adding energy to his sets, he is certainly a crowd pleaser. However, sometimes the show does not always go according to plan. Here are some of our favourite Aoki stunts over the past few years.
Steve Aoki: The New Double Album
Life never stands still for EDM showman Steve Aoki. Since finishing up his huge Aokify America Tour last year, the Dim Mak boss launched into 2014 with a three-week onslaught of new releases, including his team-up with hardstyle recruit Coone.
Turns out, Aoki isn’t quite finished, announcing today that the first volume of his upcoming double album will be coming to us this summer. On August 12, Aoki will drop Neon Future I on Dim Mak/Ultra Music, featuring collaborations with Fall Out Boy, Empire of the Sun, will.i.am, Flux Pavilion, and of course Waka Flocka Flame.
Fans can expect the follow-up LP, Neon Future II, in early 2015. ”I see the future in a more of a utopian sense, built through technology, music and color,” Aoki says in a statement on Billboard. ”These concepts became the driving force for the creation of my first double album.”
