It’s been almost a year since The Guvernment shut its doors once and for all. North America’s longest-running entertainment complex, which featured a maximum capacity of over 5,000 people, closed its doors in style after 19 years.
29 People Hospitalized During Avicii Concert In Toronto
Close to 30 people ended up in hospital Saturday night with various ailments during Avicii's Toronto stop at Rogers Centre Saturday night.
Toronto EMS says they have transported 10 people to hospital from the Avicii concert at the Rogers Centre Saturday night.
Toronto EMS Commander Peter Rotolo told that before the concert even started, they began to recieve 911 calls to treat people who "overdosed" on alcohol.
The city's paramedics were not requested to be on stand-by at the sold-out concert, Rotolo said, but were called in when private medical professionals became "overwhelmed."
Meanwhile, 29 people were sent. "Unfortunately we have a few kids...excessive alcohol and partying and they can't handle it," Rotolo said. "There's a lot of people here and a few don't spoil it for the rest."
One arrest has been made in connection with the incident.
Despite the number of people sent to hospital, the gig otherwise went off without a hitch.
