Listen To Swedish House Mafia Interview Deadmau5
Before Swedish House Mafia went their separate ways, the trio commanded top billing at pretty much every festival and event.
Very few producers matched their prestige, but one of those fellow A-listers continues to top every festival’s bill even after his years of trolling and egging on his contemporaries. That producer, deadmau5 in case you couldn’t guess, actually crossed paths with Swedish House Mafia on several occasions. One of the most notable instances occurred for a special event on BBC Radio 1.
In 2012, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello took over BBC Radio 1 for a whopping two hours. Previous winners of the Essential Mix of the Year in 2010, the trio used their takeover to their advantage, playing a smorgasbord of hits and going b2b to play songs from Porter Robinson, Chris Lake and more.
The mix gets interesting in the middle when the trio sit down with deadmau5 to talk about playing gigs in small clubs, the cost of his retired mau5head and his 2012 tour. deadmau5 then proceeded to play a special DJ set, spinning tracks like his own “Brazil” and “Maths” and previewing tracks from then-mau5head signees Feed Me and Moguai.
