Australia’s Stereosonic has raised the stakes in the country’s EDM festival scene with an expanded two-day show across five cities, and a pumping line-up which includes David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Calvin Harris, Axwell and Empire of the Sun.

Paradiso Festival hit the Gorge Ampitheatre in Washington state last weekend bringing with it record high temperatures and a sold-out crowd of 25,000 zealous fans. MDMA has long been a contentious focal point in the public discourse surrounding electronic dance music, but that controversy came to a climactic head over the weekend when numerous concert goers were hospitalized.

With Ultra, EDC, and Electric Forest wrapped up, and with Camp Bisco and Hard Summer fast approaching, some ravers are questioning where to go next for the best festival experience. Well, it’s time to stop looking, because more details have been leaked about TomorrowWorld, and it’s time to start recognizing what this has the possibility of being.

A congregation of Jam bands and EDM stars converged for the Electric Forest Festival in Rothbury, Michigan this weekend. Eclectic pothead favorites Dispatch and the String Cheese Incident swapped sets with Benny Benassi and Pretty Lights, with Yeasayer, Empire of the Sun, and Passion Pit bridging the rock-rave gap. Danny Brown was somewhere in there, too — but the rapper, who once put an ecstasy tablet on the cover of his album, probably felt right at home.

At 5:30 Monday morning, Dash Berlin was winding up his set. As he finished, the Insomniac owl closed it’s wings, and the lights came down on one of the most intricate and astounding stages to date. This year, Insomniac Events poured $35 million into production costs alone. It was an astounding number to say the least but those of us “headliners” lucky enough to attend can attest that it was most definitely spent wisely. 

The final day of edc came to a close, the sets were finished, the artists were on to their next gig, and Las Vegas had become raver-less. It was a weekend of epic proportion with all of the biggest names in dance music gracing the Las Vegas speedway and its revelers with their talent. The sea of people were awash in everything you can imagine, from Trap to Hard Style to Progressive House to Electro and every deviation in between. We’re sad to see it go, but our bodies couldn’t be happier.

Day 2 came and went as the halfway mark for the three day marathon that is the Electric Daisy Carnival and many of us (read: me) were already feeling the effects of partying. Legs and feet were sore, blisters had begun to emerge, and the circles underneath everyones’ eyes were getting just a little bit darker, but it was all well worth it. We’re here to recap all of the second day’s dancing glory for you. 

Pasquale Rotella’s Electric Daisy Carnival has outdone itself yet again for its third year at the Las Vegas Speedway, featuring a litany of improvements that further establish EDC Las Vegas as America’s Raver mecca. A carnival in the most traditional sense, Rotella has created a fever-dream inspired fantasy world in the middle of the Nevada desert.

Do you live somewhere around New York? Do you love Dance Music? Then there’s a high chance you’re going to Electric Zoo. Even if you don’t live around the area, you’ve probably heard of the huge festival. This year they’ve gone Above And Beyond (see what I did there?) with the line-up and that was before Phase III was released. It’s kind of silly how many people are playing.

During Sunday’s third annual “Tanz Dich Frei 2013” (Dance Yourself Free) EDM parade in the Swiss capital of Bern, the celebration came to a screeching halt when riots and violence broke out.According to reports, over 10,000 people took part in the parade which involved the masses touring the city, blasting dance music, and all out partying. Things took a turn for the worse late into the night when the festivities reached the cities parliament building, thats when violence erupted and rioters attempted to break into the building.

In what is now our second festival of the season with a major weather element introduced on the final day, Day 3 of Movement Electronic Music Festival was dictated by rain — lots and lots of rain. What started off as a light drizzle in the afternoon and early evening, quickly progressed to an all out torrential downpour but this did not stop many fans from braving the elements to enjoy a final day at Hart Plaza. The mood was jovial and celebratory, and for a crowd that was already feeling tight knit on the first days, things got even more communal in the inclement elements.
