For Day 2 of Movement Electronic Music Festival, Hart Plaza was filled once again with techno nerds and audiophiles from around the world ready to experience the sights and sounds of the best of underground dance music. Detroit has certainly opened its arms to us visitors — everyone from convenience store owners to cab drivers seem to understand why we’re here and heartily suppose the cause. Even those who could not themselves enter the festival scanned the exterior perimeters of the gates, moving to and enjoying the music in any way they could.

It was pleasant and clear for Day 1 of Movement Electronic Music Festival and the techno was ripe for the picking. We entered without hassle, weaved our way through the low maintenance crowds between several of the five stages, and were wowed by how enjoyable a festival experience really can be. Paxahau, now in its 8th year of promoting the event, took care and special attention to space the stages appropriately, control crowds in a realistic way, and generally make attendees feel more like human beings than cattle.

Moonrise Festival has been cancelled just 3 weeks prior to it’s start. Unfortunately, the highly anticipated festival was unable to obtain a permit they needed to put the festival on. Moonrise posted the following on their Facebook page

Two month left before Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas 2013, all tickets sold out but just now Insomniac released the lineup of EDC Las Vegas, a roster that includes “musical acts, artists and theatrical performers”. Final list over 500 names and today’s announcement has revealed its vast majority. Every fan can find his or her favorite headliner - there is truly something in it for everyone. 

Whenever you are now you can always escape from there. Escape to meet incredible emotions, kilowatts of sound and crowds of clubbers worldwide. The number of awesome festivals in 2013 is increasing. Both new and the known ones are there. In this publication we’d try to list some of this year’s the most interesting and popular festivals and events. The ones you need to go to or fly to depending on your location. 

The summer season is nearly upon us, and, like you, we can’t wait to get partying in the sun. Fortunately, there’s a slew of awesome festivals in our midst, a few of which have just announced their lineups. Without further ado, here’s a handful of gatherings we’re getting stoked on.
